Each battery has a ‘cycle of life’. It begins in the factory and ends up to the final user. Once the battery is empty, if, thrown in the dustbin, its cycle of life is interrupted, loosing valuable raw materials and energy, while it is highly possible for some of its elements to enter the environment mainly through the groundwater causing dangerous effects for our health.
On the contrary, if we put an empty battery in the collection AFIS bins its ‘cycle of life’ continues, its basic elements are recovered and recycled, leading to the production of new batteries or other products.
