With great success, the conference of AFIS CYPRUS was completed, having taken place on May 8 and 9, 2026, at the Pendeli Hotel in Platres, with the participation of the Management and close associates of the organization.
During the conference, Mr. Mikellis Christou, President of the Board of Directors of Α.Φ.Η.Σ., presented the organization’s vision and strategy.
The Department of Environment also participated in the conference, presenting the importance of battery recycling within the framework of European Union legislation.
In addition, the communication activities implemented over the past two years to promote battery recycling, as well as their results, were presented by Action Global Communications.
Furthermore, the results of the updated market research on battery recycling were presented by Rai Consultants.
The General Manager of IESC presented issues concerning battery collection, their hazardous nature, storage, and exports, while the President and Chief Executive Officer of Α.Φ.Η.Σ. Α.Ε. presented the experience of Α.Φ.Η.Σ. Greece, along with future prospects and development opportunities.
With the completion of the conference, new strategic goals were set, with emphasis on strengthening recycling efforts, raising public awareness, and further developing partnerships, reaffirming Α.Φ.Η.Σ.’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
